A template that does the maths, not just the layout
Most free payslip templates are Word or Excel files: the boxes are there, but the totals are on you, and one wrong formula quietly follows you for months. This template is a generator instead — type the numbers once and the PDF comes out with gross pay, UIF, deductions and net pay already calculated and itemised.
What the template includes
Employer and employee details, pay period and payment date, ordinary and overtime hours and rates, allowances and other earnings, itemised deductions (UIF automatic; PAYE and others as entered), and the net amount — the full BCEA section 33 list, in a clean layout your employees can read at a glance. Bank details are masked by default.
Who uses it
Household employers who need a domestic worker payslip, and small teams using the small business payslip generator — same tool, same free PDF.
Frequently asked questions
Is this payslip template really free?
Yes. Single payslips are free with no sign-up, no watermark and no trial period. The generator is funded by the optional Pro plan for businesses that need saved rosters and automation.
What format is the template?
You fill in a web form and download a finished PDF payslip — not a Word or Excel file you still have to format. The PDF follows the BCEA section 33 layout used across South Africa.
Can I use this template for UIF or bank purposes?
A payslip is issued by the employer and records what the employer paid. It is the employer's document; whether a bank or the UIF accepts it depends on their own requirements and on the information being truthful. Never create a payslip for income that was not actually paid — that is fraud.
Does the template calculate UIF automatically?
Yes. Enter the gross pay and the employee's 1% UIF deduction is calculated for you, capped at the current monthly ceiling of R177.12 (remuneration ceiling R17,712, checked October 2026).
